Iranian documentary ‘Papeli’ has been scheduled to be screened at the 13th edition of International Orthodox Film Festival in Russia.
Directed by Mahdi Zamanpour Kiasari, ‘Papeli’ is to represent Iran at the Russian film event.
The word "Papeli", in Mazandarani language, spoken in a Northern Iranian province, means butterfly.
The movie highlights a period of time in the life of a family in the North of Iran when some 25 years ago the father of the family fell down from a tree and cut off his spinal cord. He had climbed the tree to pick up foliage for his livestock, but the tragic incident occurred and his family has been taking care of him throughout all the years.
Founded in 2005, the International Orthodox Film Festival is held every year in Obninsk, Russia.
The 2018 edition of the event is slated for February 11-16, 2018.
